I am sure no one needs introduction to the P-51 Mustang. The initial idea was to make the Revell’s 1/72 P-51B OOB, depicting the famous Tex Hill’s 267.
Since I took several years to finish this build, mainly due to a break on scale modeling, there are no pics of the interior. After assembly, the model was primed with Mr. Surfacer 500. Wheel wells painted with Tamiya XF-4 (Yellow Green) and pre-shading done with Tamyia X-1 (Black).
Tamiya Khaki Drap (XF-51) on top and Sky Grey (XF-19) bottom, then sealed with Future.
The canopy didn’t fit at all, so I decided to make a new one and take the opportunity to make it open.
Unfortunately, my brain decided to glitch while I was putting the transfers and one was put upside down.
Luckily I had a spare from a very old Boing Vertol, the color is not a perfect match, but I am happy with it.
And the end result after oil wash, Umbroll Matt Coat and black pastel for the smoke streaks.
